Harrison High School DECA Business Club Students Earn Bid to National Competition

Harrison High School performed among the top at the 63rd New York State DECA Business competition. The 2024 theme was “Raise The Bar” and that is exactly what the Harrison High School DECA Team of 56 students did at the largest DECA competition in state history, with more than 3,000 students in attendance. The competition was intense, but the Harrison High School students did not disappoint and achieved at the highest level. Sixteen students placed in the top 10 at the state competition, and five students qualified to compete at Nationals:  Olivia Naporano – 1st place in Hospitality & Tourism Operations; Nolan Simmons – 1st place in Principles of Marketing; Addison Valente – 2nd place in Restaurant & Food Service Management (Addison’s 2nd time qualifying for Nationals); Eva Popescu – 5th place in Marketing Communications; Jonathan Lewis – 5th place in Hotel & Lodging Management. In addition, DECA Business Club Advisor, Joe Santo was awarded the New York DECA Honorary Life Award.
