Fortune and Great Place to Work Named White Plains Hospital to the 2024 Best Workplaces in New York™ List

On June 17, White Plains Hospital announced that it has been named to Fortune and the global people analytics firm’s Great Place to Work’s 2024 list of Best Workplaces in New York™. This is the second year in a row that the Hospital has been named to the prestigious list.

White Plains Hospital became eligible for the honor following its designation as a “Great Place to Work” in 2023, a recognition it has received multiple times for exceeding national benchmarks for employee satisfaction. White Plains Hospital is one of just two hospitals in New York and one of only 24 large companies (1,000+ employees) with headquarters in New York State to be recognized.

To determine the Fortune Best Workplaces in New York List, Great Place to Work collected nearly 140,000 confidential survey responses from employees at Great Place to Work-certified companies. Hospital employees from all departments and job functions were asked to complete a survey that included questions on leadership effectiveness, respect, fairness, and employee pride in the community. White Plains Hospital scored significantly above the benchmark required to be certified as a Best Workplace. Visit to read the full methodology.

“This achievement reflects the culture of excellence we have developed at White Plains Hospital,” said Diane Woolley, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at White Plains Hospital. “Our employees are the cornerstone of our success. We are proud of their dedication, teamwork, and compassion, which allow us to deliver high-quality, award-winning care to our patients.”

“Congratulations to the Best Workplaces in New York,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work®. “As the business landscape is disrupted — from AI, global conflict, and market pressure — companies who have built a reservoir of trust with their employees will be more resilient and, ultimately, more successful.”

White Plains Hospital is a proud member of the Montefiore Health System, serving as its tertiary hub of advanced care in the Hudson Valley. The Hospital is a 292-bed not-for-profit healthcare organization with the primary mission of providing exceptional acute and preventive medical care to all people who live in, work in, or visit Westchester County and its surrounding areas. White Plains Hospital has outpatient medical facilities across Westchester, including multispecialty practices in Armonk, Hawthorne, Larchmont, New Rochelle, Rye Brook, Somers, Yonkers, and Yorktown Heights, and Scarsdale Medical Group locations in Harrison and Scarsdale.

The Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and in 2023, White Plains Hospital received another 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) — the highest distinction offered by that federal agency for the second consecutive year. In addition, the Hospital received its third Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a distinction held by only two percent of hospitals in the country. In 2024, White Plains Hospital was awarded an “A” Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group for the 11th consecutive time.
