Harrison Public Library Presents Into the Woods

Harrison Public Library presents “Into the Woods,” by Jim Maciel on exhibit June 4 to July 1.

Jim works from photos that he has taken on his back road travels. The paintings in this solo show are Sumi ink and Watercolor on Watercolor paper.

Jim’s art history goes back to 1966 when he started trying to learn art in a small college in New Bedford, Massachusetts. In 1975 he moved to NYC as a VISTA Volunteer. The city gave him the courage and inspiration to start showing his work. He showed at the Bond St. Gallery and was a member of the Ward Nasse Gallery from 1980-1984. When he moved to Westchester County in 1978 he started showing in local spaces—Hudson River Museum, and the Bronxville, Larchmont, Irvington, Mt Kisco, and Harrison Libraries.

Jim is a proud member of the Mamaroneck Artist Guild.
