Author Talk with Janet Sherlund on November 16 at the Harrison Public Library
In honor of National Adoption Day Janet Sherlund will share her search for her origins in her elegant and heart-wrenching memoir, Abandoned at Birth: Searching for the Arms That Once Held Me. She will be joined by Family Services of Westchester’s Adoption and Children’s Services. Janet Sherlund paints a vivid portrait of the longing of an adopted child to know her origins and her lifelong quest to find her biological mother. Her memoir examines the grief and trauma caused by this primal separation and the dogged determination it takes to face the forces of opposition – both internal and external – to finally attain answers. The talk will take place on November 16 in the library’s Community Room at 1:00 p.m. Registration is recommended.
